Terms of service

These terms govern the use of thefriends.io and The Friends portal, and the services The Friends provides to specialists and client companies. By using the website, applying as a specialist or signing a client agreement, you accept them.

What we do

The Friends finds, vets and presents specialists from Southeast Europe to companies abroad, and can employ the selected specialist on the client's behalf. We present a shortlist on a private page; the client chooses whom to interview and hire.

For specialists

Creating a profile is free. You confirm that the information you provide is accurate and yours to share, and you keep it up to date. We review every profile by hand and decide which positions to present you for. You can pause matching by changing your availability and delete your account at any time. Referral bonuses are paid after the referred person completes their first month with a client; details are shown in the portal.

For clients

Pricing, guarantee terms and payment schedule are set out in the client agreement you sign with us. The 14-day replacement guarantee means that if a placed specialist leaves or is let go within the first 14 days, we present a replacement at no extra fee. Client contacts may not approach a presented specialist outside the process, or hire them directly, for 12 months after the shortlist is delivered, unless the client agreement says otherwise.

Private pages and passwords

Shortlist pages are private and password-protected. Passwords are personal to the client contact they were sent to and may not be shared outside the hiring team.

Acceptable use

You may not scrape the website, use it to send unsolicited messages, upload content you do not have the right to share, or try to gain access to accounts or pages that are not yours.

Liability

We work with care, but we do not guarantee that a position will be filled or that a specialist will accept an offer. To the extent permitted by law, our liability under these terms is limited to the fees paid for the service concerned.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia. Disputes are resolved by the competent court in Belgrade, unless the client agreement states otherwise.
